A 29-plus-pound San Juan brown

In March 2019, Garry landed this brown trout on New Mexico’s San Juan River with guide Chris Taylor, owner of Fisheads San Juan River Lodge. At more than 29 pounds, it would have been an unofficial New Mexico state record. It was caught in a catch-and-release area, so it couldn’t be weighed on official scales and was released right after photos.
